Retired Easley Couple Wins $200,000 Playing Lotto

A Palmetto Cash 5 ticket launched the couple into the new year.

A retired Easley woman was not happy when her husband woke her up at 6:30 a.m. until she realized they had won the lottery.

The couple won $200,000 playing the Palmetto Cash 5 after purchasing a ticket at the Citgo station in Easley for the December 28, 2011 drawing.

“This has to take us into old age,” the wife said. “We’ve been struggling like most retirees,” she said. “We will have no more bills.”
