Ricky Skaggs Band Drummer Dies at 62

On the way to perform at Clemson University, a member of Ricky Skaggs' band died Monday morning while passing through Pickens County.

Tom Roady, 62, was found lying unresponsive in the back of the band's tour bus Monday morning around 10 a.m., according to Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelly.

The band was scheduled to play the first concert of the Ricky Skaggs Christmas tour Monday night.

Roady, who had recently been diagnosed with cancer, died of natural causes unrelated to cancer, Kelly said.

Roady was living with his wife in Nashville, Tenn., according to his Facebook Page.
