Roller Derby - what is it? who plays it? is it really THAT hard?
FIND OUT during a special two-night Boot Camp!! Veteran URGE Derby Girls will teach
all boot camp Newbies the basic skills needed to play roller derby. The
focus will be on Newbies and finding out if you've got what it takes.
Only minimal skating skill is required, but determination and heart is a
MUST!
If
you haven't skated since middle school, fear not: the veteran derby
girls assure you that just skating is just like riding a bike, you never
forget how to do it. You do not need to be an athlete, they will turn
you into one. All ages (over 18), body types, and backgrounds are
welcome and encouraged to attend!
Date: Monday, 10/7 and Wednesday, 10/9
Time: 7pm - 9pm
Location: Skate-a-Round, 719 Ross Avenue, Easley
Cost: $20, BONUS: Bring a friend for FREE! (BOGO Free!)
Recommended
attire: Sneakers and Comfortable athletic clothing - Tank top and
capris! Bring a Water bottle and a mouth guard (available at Academy,
Dicks or Walmart).
