School District honors 2011-2012 retirees

School District of Pickens County employees who are retiring this year were honored for their years of dedication and service at a dinner on May 24 at the Pickens County Career & Technology Center.

Addressing the retirees, Dr. Henry Hunt, superintendent, said, “Your drive, energy, sense of humor, insight, intelligence, and love have carried many of us through trying times. Your love—love of children, love for high ideals, love for fellow workers, and love for life – has manifested itself in a successful career.”
He continued, “Thank you. Thank you for your smile; thank you for your efficiency; thank you for providing a solution to those difficult daily problems based on your knowledge, experience, and understanding. Thank you for caring; thank you for your example in our students’ lives. Most of all, thank you for making the School District of Pickens County a better place through your faithful service.”
