Shriners Hospital Offers Free Orthopaedic Screenings for Children

Free hearing tests and FBI Child ID Kits also available during event.

The Shriners Hospital for Children - Greenville is offering free orthopaedic screenings for all Upstate children under the age of 18.

The free orthopaedic screenings clinic for children will be held 10am – 3pm Saturday, August 11 at the Shriners Hospital for Children - Greenville, located at 950 West Faris Road in Greenville.

Children who have an orthopaedic injury or condition involving the bones, joints or muscles can receive a free evaluation.

According to officials, if the screenings reveal a child needs further treatment, they may be referred to the Greenville Shriners Hospital for Children – Greenville. , where they will receive care regardless of their family's ability to pay.

The Greenville County School District will be on hand during the screening event, conducting free hearing tests for children. The audilogist conducting the tests will have information on hand about hearing loss and the risks of noise exposure.

Shriners Hospital for Children – Greenville will also hand for free FBI Child ID kits to parents. These kits contain an ink-less fingerprint kit, a laminate wallet card, and a DNA collection envelope. Parents and/or guardians are asked to keep completed kits in a safe place, in the event their child is ever involved in a disaster, foul play or runs away.
