South Carolina Sales Tax Holiday Announced
The 12th annual South Carolina state sales tax holiday will begin August 5 at 12:01 a.m.

The 12th annual South Carolina sales tax holiday has been scheduled to begin at 12:01 a.m. on Friday August 5 and will end on Sunday August 7 at midnight.
During the three-day tax holiday the 6% state sales and use tax and any applicable local option taxes will be lifted on traditional back-to-school items.
Items that are included in the tax holiday are as follows:

- shoes
- school supplies
- computers
- printers
- blankets
- bedspreads and linensÂ
- bath cloths
- bath towels
- bath rugs and mats
- shower curtains
- pillows and pillow cases
Items not included:
- Â jewelry
- cosmetics
- eyewear
- wallets
- watches
- rental of clothing or shoes
- furniture
- items for use in a business
- items placed on layaway
