Stan Whitten Hopes to Unseat Sheriff Stone
Easley native announced his candidacy on Friday.

Pickens County resident Stan Whitten announced his candidacy for Sheriff on Friday seeking to unseat incumbent C. David Stone.
Whitten, a native of Easley, has more than 17 years of Public Service and currently serves as master deputy with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.
C. David Stone has served as Pickens County Sheriff for 11 years and plans to announce his candidacy in the near future.

In a statement, Whitten said he plans to restructure and streamline the Sheriff's office to more effectively serve county residents.
"I will build a new image for the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office that speaks of professionalism, assurance, and preparedness in uncertain times," Whitten said in a statement. "I will never forget that the Sheriff serves the office, the office does not serve the Sheriff."
