The Littlest Angel Opens at Foothills Playhouse
The latest production at the Foothills Playhouse opens Friday night
Even angels aren't always perfect as the latest play at the Easley Foothills Playhouse would suggest.
'The Littlest Angel,' a play based on the book by Charles Tazewell, tells the tale of an unruly young angel who is transformed from a "celestial pest to the toast of the Heavenly Host."
Director Owen Robertson and Musical Director Amanda Gunter have spent the past six weeks working with a cast of 14 children to get ready for opening night. Robertson has been involved with theater for over 25 years but said this is his first production with an all-youth cast.

"Only about half the cast has been on stage before," Robertson said. "It's been a lot of fun working with them and getting to educate them."
The one-hour play is the third production of the 2011-2012 season at the playhouse. Earlier this year the volunteer-run theater featured productions of 'Shenandoah' and 'Three Murders and It's Only Monday', and Board of Directors President Pam Kelley is excited for the opening of their latest play.

"We really wanted to involve more kids in the season, so we picked this play," Kelley said.
Robertson told Patch the adults aren't the only ones who are excited, especially after 6 weeks of rehearsal.
"They're very excited to be in front of an audience," Robertson said.
The play is sure to entertain everyone with its humor, music, and inspirational story.
"It's a great play to come see with the family before Christmas," Robertson said.
'The Littlest Angel' runs from December 2-11 on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m. Sunday matinees will be held on Dec. 4 and Dec. 11 at 4 p.m. Visit the Easley Patch Calendar for ticket prices and more information.
