"Medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse," Pickens County Sheriff David Stone said. "Rates of prescription drug abuse in the U.S. are alarmingly high with the majority of prescription drugs coming from family and friends, including home medicine cabinets."
On Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. residents can get rid of their unused prescription drugs at Baptist Easley Hospital located at 202 Fleetwood Drive in Easley. A second location will be at Cannon Memorial Hospital at 123 Acker Drive in Pickens.
