Traffic Adjustments Announced For Next EHS Football Game

All three entrances to the Easley High School campus will be open during Sept. 7 game against Wren.

This week, Easley High School and School District of Pickens County administrators agreed on adjustments that need to be made to accommodate traffic at the upcoming EHS home football game.

The game will be played on September 7 versus Wren High School.

All three entrances to the EHS campus will be open to fans arriving for the upcoming game (at the last game, only two entrances were open before the game, and all three were used as exits).

Also, the $2 fee for parking at the EHS campus will not be charged at the upcoming game.

After consulting with the Easley Police Department, officers determined that the collection of fees was not a significant contributing factor to the traffic delays at the last game.

However, school officials have decided to forego the fee for the upcoming game as they continue to study traffic patterns at the new campus. The revenues generated by the parking fees had been used to pay for non-funded sports programs at the school.

These adjustments were made after reports of traffic back-ups at the EHS v. Daniel High School game on August 24.

School and law enforcement officials anticipate that traffic issues for the upcoming game should be eased by the fact that the two fan bases will likely approach the campus from opposite directions, unlike at the previous game.
