• DJ Maultsby's TD catch proves to be difference in South Carolina State's 20-17 win against Furman (wtop.com) — South Carolina State edged Furman 20-17 in a tightly contested game played in Greenville, where a 65-yard touchdown catch by DJ Maultsby on the first play proved decisive. Furman rallied late behind backup quarterback Connor Ackerley and big plays from receiver Luke Shields but couldn't overcome the early deficit. Both teams now turn to road games next Saturday.
   

• Furman alumni now shape global affairs from Finland to NSA (thestate.com) — Furman alumni with deep Greenville roots are now influencing global security, including Finnish President Alexander Stubb and NSA and Cyber Command leader Gen. Joshua Rudd, who recently returned to campus for a public conversation. Speaking at McAlister Auditorium, they discussed shifting world power, technology-driven warfare, and NATO cooperation while encouraging current Furman students to dream big, work hard, and trust they're ready for global roles.
   

• SC: Woman sentenced to 25 years in prison for drug trafficking (wyff4.com) — A Greenville woman has been sentenced to 25 years in prison and fined $100,000 after deputies found cocaine, meth, and distribution materials during a search of her home. The 13th Circuit Solicitor's Office says the Greenville County Sheriff's Office investigation led to her conviction on trafficking and possession-with-intent charges.
