• USCB plans to build new student housing (wsav.com) — New student housing is coming to USCB's Hilton Head Island campus, with 92 beds planned and completion targeted in time for students to move in by fall 2028. Initially serving upperclassmen in hospitality programs, the project aims to ease the island's housing crunch and could help more young people study and potentially stay on Hilton Head Island.
   

• Three northern Beaufort County educators named finalists for District Teacher of the Year (yourislandnews.com) — A Hilton Head Island High School business teacher is among five finalists for Beaufort County School District's 2026-27 Teacher of the Year, putting the island's educators in the spotlight. The finalists, chosen from school-level honorees across the district, will now face in-person interviews before a districtwide winner is announced in September.
