• Whitt Cline receives prestigious Golden Acorn Award from Trees SC (thenewirmonews.com) — Longtime Irmo public works director Whitt Cline has been honored with Trees SC's 2026 Golden Acorn Award for decades of work growing the town's tree canopy and parks. From planting about 2,000 trees along St. Andrews Road to helping develop four parks, including the newly renamed Whitt Cline Community Park, his efforts will shape Irmo's green spaces for generations.
