Two Irmo High Students Awarded National Achievement Scholarships
Ezinne Ogbonna and Jeremiah Prince are among 800 African-American seniors nationwide receiving this year's awards.
Two students from Lexington-Richland School District 5 have been named winners of the 2013 National Achievement Scholarship program.
Irmo High School students Ezinne Ogbonna and Jeremiah Prince are among the 800 African-American seniors nationwide receiving this year’s awards.
Both students will receive a $2,500 scholarship.

Irmo High Assistant Principal Tom Wise said, “Ezinne and Jeremiah embody the excellence and achievement that we hope all students at Irmo High will strive for. We congratulate them on their awards and look forward to all they will accomplish in the future.”
The National Achievement Program is conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, a nonprofit organization that operates without government assistance. Scholarship criteria included a record of consistently high academic performance and potential for academic success in college. Around 32,000 students have been awarded the scholarships since the program was established in 1964.
