Suniva raises $835 million to accelerate its 4.5 GW solar cell factory in South Carolina (gcn.com) — Laurens County is set to host a massive new Suniva solar cell factory, bringing an expected 564 manufacturing jobs to a 621,000-square-foot facility in Laurens by late 2027. Backed by $835 million in new funding, the project positions the county at the center of a growing clean-energy manufacturing hub in South Carolina while helping close a key gap in the U.S. solar supply chain.

High School Football Week Five Highlights and Scores (wach.com) — Laurens High football fans got a tense Friday night, with the Raiders leading Blythewood 24–20 when lightning forced a delay in the third quarter. Man arrested in SC to be extradited to Upstate, deputies say (wyff4.com) — Law enforcement say a man arrested in Marlboro, South Carolina, will be extradited to Laurens County to face separate outstanding charges. Deputies report he was initially taken into custody on a drug charge and is being held in the Marlboro County Detention Center while officials arrange his transfer to the Upstate.
