• Traffic stop leads to multi-county meth investigation, arrests (nowgeorgia.com) — Law enforcement traced a Franklin County traffic stop to a home in Elberton, where officers say they seized additional meth and arrested a woman. Two Elberton men first stopped in Canon now face charges in both Franklin and Elbert counties. Authorities credit cooperation among multiple Northeast Georgia agencies for recovering nearly 500 grams of meth.
   

• Patsy Anne (Reed) Etter 1941-2026 (fcfreepresspa.com) — An 84-year-old Royston native and Elberton County High School graduate has passed away in Pennsylvania, leaving three children, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Her obituary highlights deep Georgia roots, from school days in Elberton County to a lifelong love of Bulldogs, peaches, and magnolias. Private services will be held later in Royston.
