White Knoll Marching Band Scores Big!

The members of the WKHS Timberwolf Marching pride were named Grand Champions of the Western Carolina University Tournament of Champions on Oct. 20, as well as the Blythewood Tournament of Champions previously in the month. 

On Oct. 13, at the Blythewood Tournament, in the AAAAA division, they won Best Colorguard, Best Drumline, and Highest Music Score. In addition, they earned a Superior Rating, placed first in the AAAAA class, and were named the Grand Champion of the competition. 

On Oct. 20 at the Western Carolina University Tournament of Champions, in the preliminary examinations, in the 3A class, they won the third place percussion award, second place color guard award, and were named the AAA Champion band. In final competition, they won the Outstanding Auxiliary Award, and were named the 2012 WCU Tournament of Champions Grand Champion!! WCU Tournament of Champions hosts bands from all over the South East. It is a pretty prestigious regional competition.

This week, they will travel to Atlanta to the Georgia Dome to compete in the Bands of America Atlanta Super-Regional against 34 of the best bands in the country. And the on November 3rd  both White Knoll and Lexington High Schools will compete in the State 5A competition in Walterboro at Colleton County High School.  

The White Knoll Marching band won back to back 4A State Champion Titles for the years 2010 and 2011.
