A.C. Flora Downs Lexington 9-4 In Regular Season Finale

The Wildcats, who fell to 20-4, play host to Lugoff-Elgin in the opening round of the AAAA District 5 playoffs on Thursday at 7:00.

Columbia, S.C. -- Donald Gillespie had two hits including a homer and Jake Lewis, Everett Eynon, Austin Beskid and Connor Desmond added two hits each that helped AAA's top-ranked A.C. Flora to a 9-4 win over AAAA's top-ranked Lexington in the non-conference high school baseball regular season finale for both schools at Falcon Field on Monday.

The Wildcats, who fell to 20-4, play host to Lugoff-Elgin in the opening round of the AAAA District 5 playoffs on Thursday at 7:00.  The Falcons improved to 17-4.

Lexington, which beat the Falcons 10-0 earlier this season, were led by David Barboza and Will Lacount who had two hits each. Nick Ciuffo extended his hitting streak to 23 games with a first inning single.

Gillespie homered in the sixth inning and finished 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI. 

Grant Chapman picked up the win pitching a scoreless inning in relief. Matt Godleski (3-1) suffered the loss in relief.
