"Celebrating Lexington High School's Centennial" Museum Fundraiser To Be Held on Saturday

The annual fundraiser for the Lexington County Museum will celebrate the high school.

The Friends of the Lexington County Museum will host its annual fundraiser this Saturday (Feb. 2) from 7 to 11 p.m. at Lexington’s Town Hall. The fundraiser this year will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Lexington High School.

The high school was opened in 1912 and was located near where Lexington Elementary is today on North Lake Drive. The first graduating class featured 13 students, 11 females and two males. The school added 11th grade in 1922 and 12th grade in 1948. The original building was torn down in 1988.

Tickets to this fun event are $40 and can be purchased from the museum or at the door on Feb. 2. Tickets include all you can eat and drink. The Great Society Band will provide music.

Sponsorships ranging from $150 to $2500 are available and are tax-deductible.
