Faith, Family & Friends
Living, laughing, and loving in Lexington is what I'll be sharing in my blog. So grateful for faith, family, and friends in Lexington who support my family on life's journey.

I love living in the town of Lexington. After moving twice a year for the first ten years of marriage with my husband’s job as an athletic trainer with the New York Mets, we chose Lexington as the place to put down roots and raise our children. Fifteen years later, we couldn’t be more pleased with our choice.
I have watched Lexington grow from a small town with a handful of restaurants, shopping destinations, schools, and houses of worship to a very busy and populated town. When we first arrived in Lexington in December of 1996, there was no Super Wal-Mart and TCBY was the only place in town for frozen yogurt. The Library was located beside the Lexington County Leisure Center, there was only one high school, and traffic was not an issue.
The town of Lexington no longer ends at the intersection of Hwy. 378 and Old Cherokee Road near the Publix Shopping Center. The retail shopping corridor stretches all the way to Interstate 20. Lexington is now home to two Super Wal-Marts, four shops for frozen yogurt, two high schools, with another slated to open in the fall of 2013, a new and larger public library and traffic is a HUGE issue.

Even with the tremendous growth and traffic woes, I love that Lexington remains a small town with small town values. Our life here is centered around faith, family, and friends who care about us and share our same values. My family is blessed to call Lexington Baptist our church home where we receive love, support, and encouragement to battle through life’s many challenges. My children attend Lexington High School and Lexington Elementary where they are receiving top notch instruction from excellent teachers, many of whom were born and raised in Lexington County.
Through my husband’s personal training business, our neighborhood, our church, our children’s participation in sports, and their attendance at locally owned and operated Anne Pitts Child Development Center, we have met and made the best friends a family could have. Our friends and family in the town of Lexington have supported us through loss of employment, the birth of our daughter, the loss of my father, our daughter’s diagnosis with Type 1 diabetes, and many other triumphs and defeats. We have never had to go it alone on life’s journey while living in Lexington.
