Lexington at A.C. Flora Baseball Game Postponed; Wildcats Head to USA Baseball's National High School Invitational

Wildcats have won eight in a row and are 10-1 overall.

Lexington, S.C. - The Lexington at A.C. Flora high school baseball game scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday has been postponed due to rain. No makeup date has been set.

The top-ranked Wildcats, winners of eight in a row, are 10-1 overall and 4-0 in Region 5-AAAA play after Friday night's 9-0 win at North Augusta.  Lefty Josh Reagan improved to 3-0 with a two-hit, complete-game effort.  Reagan didn't allow a hit after North Augusta's third batter of the game and retired the final 16 batters overall. He walked one and struck out eight.

Ryan Brown (1-for-4) and Nick Ciuffo (2-for-4) extended their hitting streaks to 10 games while David Barboza led Lexington's 11-hit attack going 3-for-4. Brandon Camp added his first homer of the season leading off the Wildcats' five-run sixth inning.

Lexington travels to Cary, N.C. to compete in the USA Baseball National High School Invitational (NHSI) held March 27-30 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex. The Wilcats take on Florida (Fla.) Christian at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

The NHSI brings together 16 of the top prep teams in the country to compete against each other in what has become the premier event on the high school baseball calendar. The NHSI will feature not only the top teams in the country, but some of the best amateur baseball players as well. 

A number of Baseball America's top 20 ranked players nationally will be on display including Ciuffo (catcher, L/R, 6-1, 210), ranked 19th overall by the magazine.

Baseball America (BA) and The Town of Cary are partnering with USA Baseball in the hosting of the event. The NHSI is a single-elimination championship tournament with each participating team is guaranteed to play four games.
