Lexington County Museum's Artifact of the Week: Jan. 20-26

Highlighted artifact from the collections of the Lexington County Museum.

This week's highlighted artifact from the collection of the museum is an Acme Queen Parlor organ made by the Beckwith Organ Company.  It sold for $25.95 in the 1904 Sears catalog.  This organ was given to Anna Schneider Harmon by her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Schneider prior to her marriage.  Anna Harmon was the organist at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in the early twentieth century.

See this artifact and more at the Lexington County Museum, located at 231 Fox Street in downtown Lexington. Visit www.lex-co.sc.gov/museum for more information. Check back next week for another exciting artifact!

Also, don't forget about the Friends of the Lexington County Museum's fundraiser celebrating the 100th anniversary of Lexington High School on Saturday February 2 from 7 to 11 p.m. at Lexington's Town Hall.  It should be a great time!
