Lexington County Museum's Artifact of the Week: June 2-8

Highlighted artifact from the collections of the Lexington County Museum.

This week's highlighted artifact is a hand-held fluting iron that dates from the second half of the nineteenth century. Made by the Geneva Company in Geneva, Illinois, fluting irons like this were used to ruffle sleeves and collars. This wonderful artifact was found in a house located on Old Chapin Road in Lexington.

See this artifact and more at the Lexington County Museum, located at 231 Fox Street in downtown Lexington. Visit www.lex-co.sc.gov/museum for more information.
