Today's highlighted artifact is a pair of black ladies high top shoes. The shoes are made of cotton sateen with leather soles and heels. They feature beaded florets on the toes as well. This pair belonged to Louisa George Hayes who lived from 1836 to 1913 and was married to Bolivar Hayes, who recorded the 1860 census.
