Lexington County Museum's Artifact of the Week: Oct. 14 - Oct. 20

Artifact of the week from the collection of the Lexington County Museum.

The artifact of the week is a mid-nineteenth century lap desk (writing box). It most likely was used in Lexington County and was used for personal and business reasons. It has space for an inkwell and compartments to store papers.

Also, remember to visit the museum tomorrow (October 18) or Friday (October 19) for the Haunted History Halloween program.  Tours start at 7, 7:30, 8, and 8:30 pm.  Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.  This event is family-friendly, educational, and fun!  The museum is located at 231 Fox Street in downtown Lexington.  To find out more or to make reservations, please call 803-359-8369 or email J.R. Fennell at JRFennell@lex-co.com.
