Lexington County Museum's Artifact of the Week: Oct. 21 - Oct. 27
Artifact of the week from the collection of Lexington County Museum
This week's artifact is the newest addition to our collection: a ca. 1880 Rockaway carriage owned by George Cotton Smith who lived on Richland Street in Columbia, SC. After Smith's death, the carriage was moved to Adams Pond off Bluff Road by the grandson of Smith and then to the eastern part of Richland County. The museum is very happy to have this artifact. It's a great addition to our collection of historic buggies and carriages.
