Lexington County Museum's Haunted History Program a Great Success
Lexington County Museum hosted a very successful Halloween program last Thursday and Friday.

Around two hundred people came to the Lexington County Museum's Haunted History Halloween program last Thursday and Friday.
Visitors learned about the legendary bandit Black Luke, who terrorized antebellum Lexington District, and about Daniel Koon, a practitioner of "using" from the Dutch Fork. Using was similar to good witchcraft and was brought over from Europe by the Germans and Swiss Germans that settled Lexington and the Dutch Fork. Users could heal, place hexes, and talk out fire.
Both children and adults enjoyed the tours, which lasted about thirty minutes. Fun programs like this help give exposure to the museum and hopefully bring in visitors who normally wouldn't go to a museum. If you came to the event, we hope you enjoyed it!
