Lexington Downs No. 8 South Aiken in Region Clash 6-2
Lexington plays at Aiken at 7 p.m. Wednesday in another region contest.
Aiken, S.C. -- David Barboza collected three hits and drove in a run and Josh Reagan pitched a complete-game that helped top-ranked Lexington to a 6-2 win over 8th-ranked South Aiken in a Region 5-AAAA high school baseball game Tuesday night at South Aiken Field.
Lexington, which plays at Aiken in a league matchup on Wednesday at 7 p.m., improved to 13-3 overall and 5-0 in league play. South Aiken fell to 11-4 and 5-2.
Trailing 2-0 entering the second inning, Lexington's Cole McMillan was hit by a pitch to start the frame and eventually scored on a sacrifice fly by Cody Smith cutting the margin to 2-1.

Dalton Addy and Nick Ciuffo, who extended his hitting streak to 15 games, led off the third with singles. Addy and courtesy runner Brice Kirven eventually scored on sacrifice flies by Zach Paquette and Brandon Camp to give the Wildcats a 3-2 edge.
Lexington added three insurance runs in the top of the seventh when Camp was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, McMillan had a sacrifice fly and Barboza drove in the final run with a single to left.

Reagan (5-0) picked up the win scattering seven hits over seven innings with five strikeouts. Taylor Widener suffered loss surrendering six runs, five earned, on six hits with two strikeouts over seven innings.
