Lexington Downs Spring Valley in Exhibition Opener, 20-3
Ryan Brown collected four hits and Cody Smith added a solo homer that helped Lexington to an easy win over Spring Valley in its exhibition opener on Monday.
Lexington, S.C. - The Lexington Wildcats baseball team beat Spring Valley 20-3 in its first scrimmage of the year Monday night at Wildcats Field. Ryan Brown had four hits to pace the Wildcats' 20-hit attack.
Six Wildcats had at least six hits. Cody Smith had a homer and two hits, Reece Burnett and Cole McMillan had three hits each, while Nick Ciuffo and Brice Kirven added two hits.
Seven Lexington pitchers struck out 10 over 10 innings, allowing only three runs on nine hits.
Lexington plays host to Mauldin at 1 p.m. Saturday in its second of four preseason games.
