Lexington Faces Blythewood for the 4A State Baseball Championship at Carolina Stadium Friday
First pitch from Carolina Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Top-ranked Lexington takes on third-ranked Blythewood for the 4A state baseball championship at 7 p.m. at Carolina Stadium Friday. The best-of-three series is tied 1-all. Lexington enters the game with a 27-5 record, the Bengals are 27-6.
On Monday, Lexington beat the Bengals 5-2 behind the pitching of lefty Josh Reagan. Reagan pitched a four-hitter and Brandon Camp and Ryan Brown added two hits each before a capacity crowd at Wildcats Field.
On Wednesday, Allen Louthian went the distance scattering six hits and Aaron Dahm and Tyler Romanick added two hits each as Blythewood won 7-2 at home.
The game could be a rematch of the opening game’s starting pitchers. Reagan (10-0, 1.26 ERA) is expected to start for Lexington, while the Bengals could counter with righty Andrew Beckwith (7-2, 1.22).
