Lexington High School Takes on Florida Christian (Fla.) in NHSI Opening Round

The top-ranked Lexington Wildcats baseball team takes on Florida Christian (Fla.) in the opening round of the second annual National High School Invitational (NHSI), USA Baseball announced.

The event takes place at the USA Baseball National Training Complex (NTC) in Cary, N.C., March 27 to 30 with the semifinal and championship games streamed live on USABaseball.com. The tournament field includes teams from 10 states and will feature some of the top prep baseball programs and players in the country. Baseball America, The Greater Raleigh Sports Alliance and The Town of Cary are partnering with USA Baseball in the hosting of the event.

The Wildcats are in action on Saturday at number-two Blythewood when they take on the Bengals at 1 p.m.  It’s the third of four preseason games for the Wildcats.  Lexington has knocked off Spring Valley (20-3) and number-four Mauldin (10-1) in exhibitions this spring.
