Lexington Rolls to a 15-1 Win at Irmo

Wildcats play at White Knoll at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Irmo, S.C. -- Jordan Buster and Elliot Lance combined on a one-hitter and Nick Ciuffo and Will Lacount collected two hits each that paced top-ranked Lexington to a 15-1 win over Irmo in non-conference high school baseball action at Strother Sligh Field on Wednesday.

Lexington, which won its seventh in a row, improved to 19-3.  The Wildcats close out Region 5-AAAA play at White Knoll at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The Yellow Jackets fell to 3-15.

David Barboza and Ryan Brown had two-run singles in the first inning that saw the Wildcats jump out to a 7-0 lead. Lexington stretched its margin to 9-0 in the second inning on RBI singles by Lacount and Cody Smith.

Lacount and Brandon Camp had two-run singles that highlighted the Wildcats' six-run top of the fifth inning for the final margin.

Ciuffo finished 2-for-3 with a single and a double while Lacount drove in three runs and went 2-for-4 to pace Lexington's 14-hit attack. Barboza, Brown and Camp drove in two runs each for the Wildcats.  Ciuffo and Brown extended their hitting streaks to 21 games.

Buster (3-1) picked up the win allowing only an unearned run on just one hit with four strikeouts over four innings. Braxton Lambert started for the Yellow Jackets and suffered the loss.
