Top-Ranked Lexington Routs North Augusta 9-0; Wins Eighth Straight

North Augusta, S.C. – Lefty Josh Reagan tossed a complete-game two-hit shutout, David Barboza collected three hits, Brandon Camp homered and Nick Ciuffo added a pair of hits helping top-ranked Lexington to its eighth straight win with a 9-0 Region 5-AAAA high school baseball victory over North Augusta at Riverview Park on Friday.

Lexington, which plays a non-league game at A.C. Flora at 1:00 on Saturday, improved to 10-1 overall and 4-0 in league play. The Yellow Jackets fell to 5-6 and 2-3.

Reagan, who struck out eight on walked just one, retired the final 16 batters and didn't allow a hit after the Yellow Jackets' third batter of the game.  He worked out of a bases loaded, one-out situation in the first ining when he got a double play grounder to end the threat.  Reagan threw just 84 pitches while improving to 3-0.

Lexington grabbed  4-0 third inning lead on RBI singles by Ryan Brown and Zach Paquette and a two-run single by Dalton Addy.

Camp homered to left field leading off Lexington's five-run sixth inning. Cody Smith forced in a run with a bases loaded walk, Brown had a RBI grounder, another run scored on a throwing error and Ciuffo capped the frame when he lined an RBI single to right.

Barboza finished 3-for-4, Ciuffo extended his hitting streak to 10 games while going 2-for-4 and Brown's single extended his hitting streak to 10 games.

Jake McCormick (0-1) suffered the loss allowing nine runs, seven earned, on 10 hits over the first 5 1/3 innings.
