If you love reading, mark you calendar for May 18th - May 20th for the South Carolina Humanities Council SC Book Festival!! It is the 16th anniversary of the event and will be held at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center on 1101 Lincoln Street in Columbia. This is the third year I have volunteered there, and it is an excellent opportunity to meet South Carolina and other top selling authors, and get them to sign their books you already own, or purchase their books and have them sign on site!! (I tried posting this on the Lexington Patch Events list without much luck, either it is too far in the future to list, or I just didn't get the process. I will try again later). I want to tell you about this on my blog, though, because it is a great event! There are book writing and publishing lectures, a teen poets reading and a Children's Pavilion with live performances and children's books.
