CNN Unveils Criteria for Charleston GOP Debate

The 90-minute debate is scheduled for Jan. 19.

CNN, the host network for the scheduled Jan. 19 Charleston GOP debate, announced its criteria today for candidates wanting to take part.

Placing in the top four of the voting in Iowa or New Hampshire, placing at 7 percent or above in the average of national polls in the next two weeks or placing at 7 percent or above in the average of S.C. polls will earn a spot at a podium.

Based on the most recent polls for Iowa and New Hampshire, and the most recent averages of state and national polling at Real Clear Politics, everyone currently in the race would be in the debate except Rep. Michele Bachmann.
