County's Budget May Tighten
With budget deliberations set to begin soon, Lexington County leaders will wrestle with spending requests that outweigh projected revenues in the coming fiscal year.

Lexington County Council members warned Tuesday that the coming fiscal year could be a tight one, The State reported.
Budget deliberations will begin soon to finalize a spending plan by the time the new fiscal year starts on July 1. But Council members warned that right now spending requests exceed projected revenues.
Spending requests total $115.7 million compared to a revenue forecast of $101.8 million, the report said.
Council hasn't ruled out such measures as layoffs and tax increases. "We’ve got our work cut out for us," Council chairman Bill Banning told fellow Council members.
