Fire destroys Lexington home

Residents not home during blaze

Firefighters remained on the scene this morning after a fire destroyed a home in Lexington last night.

Flames engulfed the home at 611 Brandon Court shortly after 8 p.m. on Thursday. Fire crews from six different stations responded to the fire, but could not do much to save the home.

While the brick foundation remained intact, the entire second floor of the house burned out and significant damage also occurred in the garage and throughout the ground floor. The fire did not spread beyond the home and the cause remains under investigation.

According to the fire department, the fire caused no injuries and no one was at the home when it broke out. The residents were not at the scene this morning.

The home was built in 1992 and had three bathrooms and two and a half baths, according to the property website zillow.com.
