Lexington County Museum's Artifact of the Week: Aug. 18-Aug. 24

This week's artifact is a ca. 1830 secretary with bookcase formerly owned by Judge Lemuel Boozer, whose house is still standing on West Main Street in Lexington.  The secretary features a mahogany veneer with milk glass knobs for drawer pulls.  It was possibly made by Allen MacDonald, a furniture maker in Charleston in the first half of the 19th century.
See this artifact and more at the Lexington County Museum, located at 231 Fox Street in downtown Lexington. Visit www.lex-co.sc.gov/museum for more information.
