Lexington County Museum's Artifact of the Week: Nov. 17-Nov. 23

The selected artifact for this week is ca. 1880 quilt owned by the Frick family of the Dutch Fork. This quilt features the dark blue, dark brown, and cheddar colors that were popular in Lexington County and the Dutch Fork in the late 19th century. The pattern on the quilt is variation of the turkey tracks design. The quilt also features a stamp on the back "Graniteville C Heavy Shirtings."
See this artifact and more at the Lexington County Museum, located at 231 Fox Street in downtown Lexington. Visit www.lex-co.sc.gov/museum for more information.
