Incumbent Todd Shevchik seeks return to Lexington Town Council

Voters will trek to the polls in Lexington on Tuesday to fill three seats on Town Council.
Six people are vying for those seats — three challengers (Constance Flemming, Steve MacDougall, and Tripp Newsome), and three incumbents (Council members Danny Frazier, Todd Shevchik, and Richard Thompson).
The top three vote getters will be seated.

To help voters decide their Council vote, Patch has posed a series of questions to all six candidates. Yesterday, we featured the three challengers. Today, we feature incumbent Todd Shevchik.

What are your top accomplishments as a Council member? Willie Caractor Park, Gibson Pond Park are two beautiful new additions to our town that I was a part of. Working to combat traffic and coming up with solutions and FUNDING takes a lot of time to make happen. There has been a lot of progress behind the scenes that most citizens do not know about and work is about to begin.
What is your vision for Lexington and why are you running for this office? I love the fact that Lexington grows and grows. New people who move here tend to get involved in the community, which is awesome. I have enjoyed being a part of the council for the past 5 years and want to continue helping the town grow and prosper.
What are your top issues and how do you propose to tackle them? Continuing to work and secure road funding, better recreational opportunities, more green space, better paved roads.
What other issues do you believe the Council must tackle in he next 5 years? N/A
Why should people vote for you? I would appreciate your votes. As a politician I must always look to the future and work in the present. One of my talents is my creativeness and visionary foresight. I enjoy bringing people together and solving problems. My door is always open. I can't help solve a problem if I don't know about it. Call me, text me, email me, Facebook me. I welcome your input.
Anything else you'd like to say? Being elected to the Lexington Town Council has been similar to having your first child. You don't really know what you are doing....and you learn very quickly. It is hard work and truly a labor of love.
