Oak Grove, Red Bank Elementary Schools Participating in Walk to School Event Wednesday

Oak Grove Elementary and Red Bank Elementary, along with nearly 200 other schools across South Carolina, will be participating in Wednesday's International Walk to School Day.

More than 40 countries participate in the event, according to the Department of Transportation, encouraging safer routes for walking and bicycling and emphasizing physical activity, pedestrian safety and conservation. 

Students, parents and teachers will either meet at a nearby location and walk to school or just walk around the school at scheduled times during the day.
