Photos: Runners Descend on the Midlands

Shouts of encouragement. High fives. Sweat. And smiles. All were in abundance Saturday morning as thousands of runners from the Midlands, and throughout the United States, took part Saturday in the Palmetto Half-Marathon.

Under picture-perfect skies, runners of all ages and skill levels took part in the half-marathon, as well as a kids' fun run, and a 5K race. The events began and ended at the Village at Sandhill in Spring Valley, and helped raise money for local charities.
