Readers' Choice: Lizard's Thicket Best Breakfast

Without a doubt, the restaurant's Augusta Road location is the go-to spot for the most important meal of the day.

Variety may be the spice of life, but when it comes to eating out for breakfast, Lexington's Earl Hainey only likes to go to .

"You can't go wrong with the country-fried steak, and biscuits and gravy," Hainey said one recent morning. "And the waitresses can't be beat either."

Others seem to agree. The popular restaurant's Augusta Road location was the overwhelming choice in this week's Readers' Choice contest for best breakfast, easily outdistancing the rest of the competition with 54 percent of the vote.

If breakfast lovers enjoyed this week's poll, then procrastinators should appreciate next week's, when we ask Lexington Patch readers to tell us which area firm is the go-to place to do your taxes at the last minute.

Voting in that contest will begin Monday morning at 9 a.m.
