Report: Lexington Dog Park Proposed

Mayor Halfacre says park part of vision to improve the town's quality of life, for both humans and canines.

The town of Lexington may have a dog park in its future -- perhaps by midsummer.

, saying it would be one of the town's priories in the coming year -- one of many ways to improve the town's quality of life.

In this report by The State newspaper, a 2-acre section of Virginia Hylton Park could become the location of the park.

"Local dog lovers have pushed for the facility since fall 2009," the paper said.

"It’s been a long time coming, but I’m very happy," homeowner Peter Buttress told the paper.
