Vehicle Accident Kills Leesville Teen
Authorities say single-vehicle wreck happened on Neely Wingard Road

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the S.C. Highway Patrol are investigating a one-vehicle accident that occurred at around 1:05 p.m. on Saturday at 3461 Neely Wingard Road in Leesville.
According to Lexington Coroner Harry Harman, Joshua W. Jackson, 15, of Leesville, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Suburban, heading south on Neely Wingard Road, when he lost control of the vehicle, overcorrected, rolled several times, and was ejected from the vehicle.
Jackson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene, Harman said.
Jackson’s mother, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to Palmetto Health Richland. Her condition is unknown at this time. The mother's name has not yet been released.
The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
