Video: 'Win it 4 Kennedy'
Local video chronicles the relationship between the Lexington Wildcats and the ailing Kennedy Branham as the 'Cats seek a state baseball title in her honor.
The outpouring of community love for Kennedy Branham, a Lexington 7th-grader who suffers from brain cancer, is one of the more compelling stories you will find -- either here or anywhere else.
Of all the events and shows of support for Kennedy, perhaps none has become more compelling than the relationship between the young girl and the boys baseball team from Lexington High.
Already they have shaved their heads to honor Kennedy as she battles cancer. She recently threw out the first pitch to open the Wildcats' playoff season, and one of their own has even taken Kennedy to the prom.
And now, as this video shows, the team has dedicated its season to Kennedy as the state's top-ranked team seeks a state championship to honor her.
The video was produced by renowned voice actor and Wildcat baseball parent, Gary Barboza.
