Winston's Gift Shop Celebrates Launch with Open House, Book Signing

The gift shop, located at White House Florist, will feature an open house with a book signing by two local authors.

Winston's Gift Shop will host an open house with local authors Dr. Phil Sawyer and Tom Poland from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday. 

Sawyer and Poland will be signing copies of their newly released book, “Save the Last Dance for Me,” which tells the story of the shag dance and its presence on South Carolina beaches.

White House onwer Jennifer Pryor will sell the book, along with other unique gifts, in the new store.

Pryor said she has seen a increased demand for unique gifts over the years.

"We decided to expand our gift store offerings to provide customers with a convenient, friendly place to find beautiful items for themselves and others,” Pryor said. 

Winston's Gift Shop — named for the beloved family dog, Winston — offers gifts for babies, brides, graduates and children. The store also sells hostess and housewarming gifts and seasonal decor. 

The gift shop is located inside the house on the White House property at 721 Old Cherokee Road. Pryor's florist and Weddings by Jennifer businesses will be inside the flower barn on the same property.
