YMCA Ponders Lexington Facility

A local YMCA official says the non-profit would like to build a branch in Lexington, The State reported.

The proposed center would likely be anchored by an aquatics center, as is customary. Town leaders, who are open to the idea, also said they would like it to include much-needed meeting space as well.

"YMCA leaders are interested in a partnership with Town Hall, Lexington County and Lexington 1 schools to make the dream happen," the report said.

Currently there is no plan in place, and it could take at least a few years for the idea to become reality.
