Acclaimed Duo Set to Jam at Cultural Center
Randall Bramlett and Geoff Achison lead a four-piece tonight.

Sax player Randall Bramblett has a rich career dating back to the 1970’s. Early on with Capricorn Records, Bramlett joined the influential band Sea Level with Chuck Leavell and did a solo tour with Gregg Allman. From there, Bramblett became one of the most sought after songwriters and sidemen, and landed on the speed dial of some of the greatest names in rock history, including Steve Winwood (16 years), Levon Helm, Warren Haynes, Delbert McClinton and Widespread Panic. His own band has toured for years and recorded 4 CD’s with New West Records.
Geoff Achison has a reputation as a guitar player’s guitarist, the rare player equally adept at acoustic or electric styles. This marks his 15th year teaching at the Jorma Kaukonen’s Fur Peace Guitar Ranch. Last year he was chosen one of the 100+ Most Gifted Guitarists You Should Know by TrueFire/Guitar Player. Equal parts New Orleans Funk, driving Blues, jazzy Soul and outback Mojo, this is southern music from the very deepest South – Australia! Over his career he’s released 12 CD’s with bands on three continents.
These super-musicians combine their virtuosic talents to make one of the best bands (and CD’s) of the year! Bramblett and Achison soar with the razor-sharp rhythm section of bassist Ted Pecchio and drummer Greg Baba backing them up. It’s a wonderful example of what can happen when two great musicians and songwriters put aside their egos and join forces. The dynamic duo perform a combination of tunes from both of their careers, and with the band, groove so supremely it’s like they’re telepathic.
