CRESTWOOD DRIVE - Again

I decided to categorize this under "Accomplishments" because there have been NO ACCOMPLISHMENTS in the three years we have tried to get them from the City of Mauldin.  Yes, three long years and Mauldin still ignores the traffic problems, speeders, the cut-through and by-pass that Crestwood Dr. has going on.  When Mauldin?  When are you going to listen to the residents of Crestwood and do something to reduce the traffic, etc. here.  My family has been on Crestwood for a total of 55 years and then, we were what one might call a "real" residential street and on into the 1990's and even later.  Then, all of the homes were built on Ashmore Bridge Rd., and many of those families found that Crestwood had no speed bumps and that no one polices it.  So, they made in into the Daytona Speedway of Mauldin.  Our voices have been heard by the City but, like most things in Mauldin, no one is truly listening.  

Approximately two years ago we had some of Mauldin's officials to visit with us and they agreed that something needed to be done to reverse the trend that had taken place.  They mentioned possible sidewalks and linage and signage be placed on the street and even said they would have to put it in it's place of priority on the list of "to do's."  However, silence, total silence!  

Children cannot use the street like most children in residential neighborhoods.  We cannot back out of our driveweays between 6 and 7:30 p.m. as there are vehicles from the stop sign at the west end of the street all lined to more than half way down the street.  We get the finger when we try to get someone to let us out.  We cannot take a leisurly walk down the street for fear we wilkl get hit byu a vehicle.  The stop signs at the East end of Crestwood are jokes.  Just sit on my front doorstep and watch as people go right through them.
